TITLE: The role of DOT1L in enhancer regulation and ncRNA control

The conserved H3 lysine 79 methyltransferase DOT1L is essential for development, it is an emerging oncoprotein implicated in numerous cancers, and it has recently been connected to control of mitochondrial genes and adipose tissue health. We study gene regulation by the DOT1L complex in C. elegans, mammalian cells and zebrafish, including enhancer regulation, control of non-coding transcriptome, and cooperation with MYC. The seminar will be focused on the function of the C. elegans DOT-1.1 at enhancers and its connection to RNA interference.
