Research Description

Our team investigates how experiences modify neuronal circuit physiology to form spatial memories, and how these functional alterations oppose or promote flexible behaviour. Our lab uses a variety of in vivo techniques such as electrophysiology, optogenetics, chemogenetics, and calcium imaging to understand the dynamic relationship between neural activity and behaviour. We aim to understand the neuronal circuit motifs that support context representations, and how stressful or traumatic experiences modify spatial representations and emotional behaviour expression.
